My latigo straps come from a Vegi/Chrome combination tanned cowhide leather that results in a strong, slick, and all around great feel. I punch plenty of prong holes in these latigos. Prong holes start at about 16 inches from the end and two inches apart. This way you will be able to use the full length of your latigo, get a precise fit to your horse, and you’ll never have to add additional holes yourself.
These latigos come in burgundy and over time they get darker. Each latigo strap is burnished and slicked with a layer of saddle soap and oil. This gives the latigo a waxy, slick, and oiled feel and will preserve the life and quality of the leather. Over the years I’ve developed a strong opinion on what makes a good latigo for a saddle and I hope you will feel equally as satisfied with your Arnoldsen Leather latigo as I am with mine.
